Future Perfect: Pop Filter’s Guide To Airbnbs And Naming Songs
Lachlan Denton from Naarm/Melbourne collective Pop Filter joins Dylan Bird in the studio to talk about their new album, naming songs and maintaining creative playfulness.
Fresh from recording their new album Ray and Lorraine from an Airbnb in regional Victoria, Lachlan chats to how a lack of time and proximity has allowed for a heightened focus on creation and loosened recording processes when being together in the company of friends.
“Our records are like little time capsules and I want to hear as much of the recording experience as a I can when I listen back to those records, as it’s really enjoyable and so I can hear our fun personality in it”
The new album aptly named after the Airbnb-turned-recording-studio will be released on the 4th of October. Both singles ('Fragile' & 'Life Downstream') highlight their continued indie pop prowess with spirited synths and lively energy. You can listen to them now on bandcamp.
