Breakfasters: Joseph Abboud on RUMI, Radiothon, and Rocket Society

Joseph Abboud, owner of RUMI restaurant, joins the Breakfasters to chat about cuisine, hospitality, sponsorship, and the importance of community. Celebrating 18 years of RUMI, Joseph has been sharing plates, winning awards, and capturing the hearts of locals. RUMI, whose name is a homage to the poet, celebrates the shared dimensions of Middle Eastern cuisine, rather than its differences.

RUMI’s banquet dining style encourages conversation and gathering, as dishes are shared, picked apart, and discussed — creating the joy and magic of the communal meal.

Joseph also emphasises the importance of supporting the community, proudly backing Triple R by donating a business prize for Radiothon 2024. The prize includes a banquet for 10 at RUMI and a nightcap at their new venue, Rocket Society, in East Brunswick Village.
