Having been brought up in the Golden plains of Victoria’s West, the sunny hills of South Africa and the inner suburbs of Naarm. Aunty Blue are launching heart-first into Melbourne’s Independent Music scene. Now based in Naarm, these four friends have joined forces to create music they like to call, Dreamy-Indie-Folk-Rock. It lies somewhere between the gritty melancholic cries of Sharon van Etten, groovy neo-soul tones of Tom Misch, and grounded by the smooth rhythms and sweetly phrased textures of good old Jeff Buckley. Having finally released their debut EP, “Don’t let me down”, at the end of last year, alongside a handful of scattered singles. This gangly-limbed band have found their feet performing relentlessly around some of Naarms favourite music venues. They have spent the last two years honing in on their live sound, touching hearts and grooving people's socks off. They are currently working on their next body of work, which they hope to release at the end of this year! Aunty Blue have emerged onto the Melbourne music scene with a heartfelt message of compassion, community and vulnerability. They aim to share this sense of openness with their growing audiences, allowing people to really move into their feelings under the guise of a crowded room. This new and emerging band has the gangly limbs of an awkward teenager but the heart of your sweet old neighbour and her Maltese poodle.
