In a week where we saw a lot about COP26 Dr Beach and Anth thought they'd delve into what it all means for the oceans.
What actually is a COP and why have there been 26 of them? And what does it mean for the ocean? Anth and Dr Beach will kick off by doing a COP 101 - all the questions you wanted to ask but were too afraid to as everyone seems to know what the stuff is about... If you have any specific questions, lets us know and we'll try to answer them live.
Join us in the monthly coastal adaptation's spot ... Dr Tom Denniss has a PhD in Mathematics and Oceanography in a co-founder of Wave Swell Energy who have a pilot energy plant sitting in a bay off Grassy on King Island that could be the future for small coastal communities and renewable energy. The Uniwave 200 is bascially an artificial blowhole near the surf zone. Tom will join us to talk about what it does, why is works and if this technology really make power enough for small town.
And in light of ScoMo (and the Labor opposition) not wanting Australia to commit to cutting methane emissions, we’ll talk to Dr Steve Meller of CH4 Global about his company’s efforts to stop cows farting methane by feeding them red seaweed supplements. How do algae stop cows burping!?
And more marine and coastal stuff.
