The SS Central America sank 200 miles off the east coast of North America in 1857. It was carrying, in today’s money, approximately $800 million in gold. Rex Hunter joins the show to chat about its finding in 1988, gold recovery and the court cases that tied up the treasure for 30 years. We talk to Dr Will White from CSIRO about The Great Egg Case Hunt and what can be learnt from the shark egg cases that wash upon the shore, plus president of Marine Care Pt Cooke Andrew Christie shares his work around invasive Asian shore crabs with his Melbourne Polytechnic students. With presenters Kade Mills and Fam Charko.
