In the studio this week Dr Shane is joined by EAGG colleagues Dr Euan, Dr Laura and Chris KP.

The team kick things off with some science news.

First up, research from Cork, Ireland involving plankton, coral and underground carbon storage.

Secondly the team introduce the listeners to a fish that is the fastest known in the world at going from birth to reproduction in just 14 days.

Then finishing on a 60 year long experiment into the genetics behind breeding and domesticating Russian foxes that are friendly to humans.

First Guest: Simon Verdon - PHD Candidate Department of Ecology, Environment & Evolution at the school of Life Sciences at Latrobe University.

Simon joins the team in the studio to share some insight on the impacts of fire in the habitat and possible re-homing of the Mallee Emu-Wren which interestly is thought to be so small that if you weighed every single Emu-Wren in the world, it would weigh less than a full size Emu!

Second Guest: EAGG's own..... Dr Laura!

Dr Laura shifts seats this week (whilst still remaining in her usual physical seat) to enlighten the team and audience on the world of T cells and the use of vaccines to boost T cell levels in specific areas of the body to best fight area specific conditions.

Dr Euan then finishes things off this week giving us all a concise answer to the question; What is a micro biome? and sharing news regarding recent studies into changing biomes in both humans and Koalas through faecal transplant.
