Egyptian blue is the oldest known synthetic pigment and has amazing endurance, retaining its luminescence for thousands of years. The ability to make it was lost for centuries but rediscovered in the 19th Century. Second guest is Christina Lucato, from Advanced Molecular Imaging at Monash University. Approximately 90% of cancer deaths are caused by cancer metastasis or the spreading of tumors to secondary sites, not by the original tumor. Recently a protein called P-Rex1 has been shown to be critical in the metastasis of a number of cancers, including melanoma, breast cancer and prostate cancer.
