Join In The ASRC’s Feast For Freedom To Fundraise For People Seeking Asylum
Keen to raise some money for people seeking asylum – and have a wonderful culinary celebration while you’re at it? Then you might like to get involved in the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre’s Feast For Freedom.
The ASRC, an independent, not-for-profit organisation whose programs support and empower people seeking asylum to maximize their own physical, mental and social wellbeing, started Feast For Freedom last year (you might recall some of the recipes from friends of the ASRC in last August’s Trip magazine).
The fundraiser involves hosting a feast in your own home or workplace and cooking recipes gifted by refugees and people with lived experience of seeking asylum – like Hamed’s Jewelled Saffron Rice.
Feast For Freedom runs from Thursday 19 March till Sunday 22 March, but you can host your feast anytime in March, registrations are open right now. Head to the Feast For Freedom website to find out more, register and have a squiz at all the wonderful recipes to choose from in 2020.
