The Score: Preserving Palestinian Traditions and 'The Food Resistance' with Rahaf Al Khatib

Nana Owusu is joined in studio by Rahaf Al-Khatib, founder of Beit Siti and Falastini Food Truck. Rahaf is a Jordanian-born Palestinian woman raised in Naarm. She founded Beit Siti in 2022 out of a desire to preserve and share the ancestral knowledge that was handed down to her by her Grandmother, Teta Jamal, specifically around the traditions carried out in the home kitchen. The newest Beit Siti project, Falastini Food Truck, opened in Preston this year. The menu showcases Palestinian soul food using seasonal produce.

Rahaf talks about Palestinian soul food, creating Beit Siti and the Falastini Food Truck, food as resistance, cooking on unceded land, community and much more.

Falastini Food Truck is located outside Pony Club Gym at 488 High Street, Preston. Keep up with Beit Siti here.
