Off The Record: The Incomparable Ingenuity of Eno
It is impossible to understate the contribution that Brian Eno has made to the creative world over the past 50 years. Be it as a producer, shaping our sonic landscape with some of the biggest bands and brands of a generation, his musings and writings on creative practise, or his own music. And now a ground-breaking documentary comprising of hundreds of hours of never before seen footage has been created by Director and Eno collaborator Gary Hustwit. The ground breaking part, is that the film is unique each time it is seen.
Hustwit and creative technologist Brendan Dawes have developed bespoke generative software designed to sequence scenes and create transitions out of Hustwit’s original interviews with Eno, and Eno’s rich archive of hundreds of hours of never-before-seen footage, and unreleased music. In the ultimate tribute to this tireless innovator, each screening of Eno is unique, presenting different scenes, order, music, and meant to be experienced live. And he joins Brian Wise on Off The Record to talk all about it!
