Brutal Realms: Sunburn 6: New Venue, Fresh Talent and Big Plans
Brad Nicholson, creator of the Sunburn Festival, recently shared exciting updates on Brutal Realms with host Stu Carlson about the festival’s upcoming sixth edition.
Known for its dedication to doom and sludge metal, the festival is making a significant move from its spiritual home in Canberra to Singing Bird Studios in Frankston, where it will be held on April 26th, 2025. Germany’s Earthbong is set to headline, with our own Stu Carlson also announced to present. Brad even hinted at the potential final line-up for those listening closely.
Sunburn 6 is hosting a competition for emerging artists, offering them a chance to perform at the festival, with details about tickets and the competition up on their socials.
In addition to festival preparations, Brad is busy with a European tour alongside Earthbong and working on new music with Pod People, Lucifungus, and Hydronaut.
“Community radio is incredibly important to us, as no commercial stations care about us the way community radio does.”
