Spin Cycle: The Science of Political Polling

Rachel, Jess, and Charlie chat with Alex Fein, Senior Insights Adviser at Redbridge and the mind behind @auspoldaily.bsky.social, about the science of political polling. Alex explains the process behind polling accurately, the necessity of having well-designed focus groups and the strategies pollsters use to find qualitative and quantitative data from everyday people without bias. Alex also discusses how non-traditional media has increasingly influenced the political spectrum, leading some people to hesitate in expressing their true views and therefore skewing results.

‘I think part of the role of facilitating a group [...] is to give people the confidence to say what they really think and ask them the questions that hopefully will be most relevant to their lives.’
