Richard Watts sits down with Melbourne Theatre Company’s Artistic Director Anne-Louise Sarks and actor Nikki Shiels about re-staging Tennessee William’s classic A Streetcar Named Desire.

“it’s a masterpiece and I don’t say that lightly. The writing is extraordinary, the language is poetic and it’s muscular. Tennessee is captured something incredibly powerful about the complexity of being human and I think that’s what makes it such an incredible piece for actors to dive into.”

A Streetcar Named Desire’s season commences from July 9, 2024.
