Legendary Canadian musician Martha Wainwright is back on the road and touring again after a lengthy break due to the pandemic.

She joins Brian Wise for a special conversation about her recent return to touring, bringing her most recent album Love Will Be Reborn to the stage, trying to find time to write new material, and the inspiration behind her song writing processes.

“Writing is different than it used to be, song writing when I was younger was pretty constant or pretty regular at least and then as life gets more complicated with family and work and responsibilities, there’s just less time in the day so I really have to push myself to create those two-three-four hours that I should be taking but I’ve cleared my schedule after Australia to do just that.”

Matha Wainwright plays the Melbourne Recital Centre on Friday May 17.
