Before heading to the bush for the Strawberry Fields festival, Kim Ann Foxman stops by the studio to chat about her many releases of this year. Alongside Andrew Potter and Brian Hersey, Foxman recently released her debut album as Pleasure Planet, slowing down the tempo and honing in on the trio's shared interest in psychdelic science fiction. The album was released on Self:Timer, the label that Foxman runs with Potter, which also put out her We Are Rhythm EP. The latter was influenced by a euphoric experience at Honcho Campout in Pennsylvania, restoring her excitement in the the dancefloor. Elsewhere, Foxman explored Filipina mysticism on a tune for the SAL label's Lunar New Year compilation.
