The survival of the iconic snow gum tree, native to the Australian high country, is being threatened by climate change.

Dylan Bird spoke to Friends of the Earth campaigns coordinator Cam Walker about the environmental and economic stakes of losing snow gums, what can be done to address their survival, as well as the future of climate action under Trump and Australia’s next government.

“A lot of us are struggling with the fact that we are starting to witness the collapse of this iconic species. It really is the emblematic species of the Australian high country … but hardly anyone is paying attention, and we do feel really frustrated by the lack of interest from the Victorian government.”
