Future Perfect: The Environmental And Health Impacts Of Fish Farming

Last week, photos emerged of chunks of salmon washing up on Tasmanian beaches, causing fresh concerns about the environmental and health impacts of industrial fish farming.

Dylan Bird spoke to Alistair Allan, Antarctic and Marine campaigner at the Bob Brown Foundation about the damage that the industry can cause, the mass mortality event that led to what was seen on Tasmanian beaches, and how the issue fits into the upcoming federal election.

“It’s quite a disgusting and gross mess on the beaches, but it’s born out of an industry that is full of suffering and cruelty built into the business model.”
