Feel The Floor: Lady Shaka on Sharing Pasifika & Indigenous Culture Worldwide

From bringing her London-based party, Pulotu Underworld, back to Aotearoa for Boiler Room in late 2024, Lady Shaka is at the forefront of electronic music scene for her distinct sound, representing not only her local community, but indigenous communities whereever she plays. With Samoan, Tokelauan, Mā'ohi (Tahitian), Māori, and Cape Verdean roots, Lady Shaka brings compassion and understanding to the dancefloor through Pasifika sounds and a tenacity for 'shaking ass'. This one is for the Islanders. "Through her artistry, Lady Shaka not only amplifies the voices of her communities but also invites listeners to engage with the broader narratives of identity, belonging, and cultural reclamation in contemporary music". Lady Shaka will be performing at Pitch Music & Arts from March 7–11.
