Far and Wide: The Sonic Evolution of Fontaines D.C

Carlos O'Connell, guitarist from Irish indie band Fontaines D.C., joins Steve Wide on Far and Wide to talk about their highly-anticipated fourth album, Romance.

This new album marks a sonic evolution of the band, seeing them eschew their punk sensibilities, as an ascent into electronic moody electronica, hip-hop percussion, and dreamy shoegaze textures, all brought to life by producer James Ford.

"In the studio we were really designing and building our sound, with the help of James, who was really the sonic architect of the album".

In anticipation of the album release, listen back to hear a deep dive into how Romance came to fruition.

The album will be released on 23rd August via XL Recordings / Remote Control.
