Neurosurgeon Dr Mohammed Awad has just returned from a medical mission in Gaza representing the Palestinian Australian New Zealand Medical Association (PANZMA). He shares with the Radiotherapy team his experiences of getting into the Gaza Strip where there was only one hospital had an operative theatre that was "remotely" good enough for neurosurgery. With only 2-3 neurosurgeons in the whole strip, Dr Awad says that they all learned from each other while working under suboptimal conditions. Since his return he has continued to share his knowledge and insights with Palestinian doctors remotely from Australia.
