Krishan Meepe gets on the line with Bronx rapper Hester Valentine about his new record ‘Valenta’.

Writing raps since childhood, Hester took advantage of lockdowns and the pandemic to finally start recording and making music – releasing a string of music on bandcamp.

Krishan chats with Hester about his beginnings as an artist, the current state of the NY hip hop scene and the differences between East Coast and West Coast rap in 2024.

“At first when I was doing music I was purely just recording stuff and writing stuff and it existed very much in isolation, now I’m performing things with people – I get to see the songs live and exist in a different context”.
