Byte Into IT: Looking at Video Games From a New Angle With Freeplay
Freeplay Independent Games Festival is Australia’s longest running indie games fest. It's championed the diverse, creative and artistic side of interactive games for twenty years in Naarm-Melbourne through showcase nights, festivals and conferences.
Freeplay’s Louie Roots and Mads Mackenzie join the Byte Into IT team for a chat about the 20th anniversary of the organisation and their plans for 2024 including their new event Angles - a festival for game makers and anyone who is curious about the act of play.
With keynote speakers, an artists market, a three day conference program and a work-in-progress night for budding games makers to share their projects, Angles is hoping to reshape how people look and talk about interactive media.
Angles kicks off this Saturday June 1 with a Melbourne Megames event and the Conference takes over ACMI from June 6-8, 2024.
