Author Charlotte Wood joins the Breakfasters to talk about her latest novel Stone Yard Devotional ahead of her appearance at Melbourne Writers Festival. In the novel, the narrator leaves her city life and marriage to return to her childhood home, and ensconces herself in a small religious community where she contemplates solitude, prayer, grief, closed order, and the slowness of life. Charlotte discusses these themes in relation to her own life and writing process.

Charlotte is the author of several novels and nonfiction books. Her books have won or been shortlisted for various prizes including The Stella Prize and the Prime Minister’s Award for Fiction. Her latest novel, Stone Yard Devotional, is out now via Allen & Unwin.
