Banksia: Tamala Shelton Discusses Spoken Word and The Bogong at Blak & Bright

Proud Bundjalung and Lama Lama actor, audiobook narrator, writer and spoken word artist Tamala Shelton joined Vanessa Morris on Banksia ahead of event The Bogong at the Blak and Bright First Nations Literary Festival.

Tamala also spoke about performing a spoken word rendition of her Uncle Archie Roach's song Cradle of Life as well as recording a range of First Nations audiobooks, hosting Storybox Library and founding and hosting Ripple Cinema, a monthly film screening and panel discussion aimed at bringing awareness to certain topics, sparking conversation and raising funds.

The Bogong will bring together diverse storytellers to deliver spoken word pieces including Tamala Shelton, Debra Dank, Elijah Money, Gary Lonesborough, Sermsah Bin Saad, John Morrissey, Waubgeshig Rice, and Melodie Reynolds.
