Wemba Wemba and Gunditjmara artist, educator and writer Paola Balla joined Vanessa Morris on Banksia to talk all about Mok Mok Murrup Yakuwa.

Originally commission through Shadow Spirit exhibition curated by Kimberley Moulton 2023, Mok Mok Murrup Yakuwa is an immersive film installation referencing the Wemba Wemba story of Mok Mok – a devil woman and sovereign goddess.

Paola also spoke about their research and works which often explores Aboriginal women's stories, voices and resistance with a visual practice, encapsulating research, art, memory and narrative realms
