Banksia: Nina Fitzgerald on Laundry Gallery x House of Darwin pop-up gallery
Laundy Gallery's Nina Fitzgerald joins Vanessa Morris on Banksia to talk all about the new Laundry Gallery x House of Darwin pop-up gallery space in Fitzroy.
Teaming up with social enterprise, House of Darwin, the pop-up space provides access to a range of fashion and art from Indigneous artists of the Northern Territory.
A little over a year old, Nina spoke about Laundry Gallery, an Aboriginal owned multidisciplinary creative hub housed in a 70s era laundromat within the Parap Village precinct of Darwin. It represents modern iterations of Indigenous arts and cultures and provide an accessible pathway for age-old songlines to co-exist with the modern world.
Nina also spoke about Going North, a Darwin based creative collective between Bolster Group, House of Darwin and Nina Fitzgerald Creative, that works to deliver culture and community focused campaigns in the NT.
The pop-up gallery is located at 28 Johnston Street, Fitzroy, until 20 November.
