Banksia: Kieran Satour on film MAHIKA KAI and upcoming release The Truth About The Telegraph
Gurindji, Pertame, Worimi filmmaker Kieran Satour joined Vanessa Morris on Banksia to talk about recent film projects and upcoming short documentary film release The Truth About The Telegraph.
The Truth About the Telegraph focuses on truth-telling of the overland telegraph line which ran from Darwin to Adelaide, and the impacts it had on the Kaytetye and Warumungu people.
Kieran also discussed recently released short film MAHIKA KAI which follows a family of Kāi Tahu cultural conservators on their mission to rehabilitate disintegrating landscapes through the regeneration of their traditional food gathering practices.
He also spoke about working with First Nations artists Kobie Dee, Barkaa and WAARI on a number of projects.
Kieran is the co-creator and Creative Director of First Nations storytelling agency Garuwa and co-founder of Indigitek which aims to increase the participation and success of Indigenous people in the tech industry.
