Yorta Yorta man Jason Tamiru joined Vanessa Morris on Banksia to yarn about the upcoming Yalinguth Live at Gertrude Street Projection Festival this Friday 4 August.
Jason spoke about the importance of the Fitzroy/Collingwood area in the history of the Aboriginal rights movement and how Yalinguth provides connection with stories and knowledge of community members.
He also provided insight into the significance of the Fig Tree, which can be found at the top of Nicholson / Gertrude Street, Fitzroy and why the Yalinguth walk starts there.
