Breakfasters: Declan Furber-Gillick
Arrernte man Declan Furber-Gillick from the Black Peoples Union chats with the Fakefasters (Billy, Kirby, and Daniel) just before the Invasion/Survival Day rally. They talk about enacting Blak/Palestinian solidarity on stolen land, what 'leadership' means, how we draw strength in struggle, and centering collectivism in action.
As he says, the motto for the BPU is: land back, liberation, no colonial occupation!
Declan also reads out a poem he wrote titled 'Decolonisation is not a metaphor' (with the title borrowing from Indigenous scholars Eve Tuck and K. Wayne Yang).
