Alison Whittaker is a proud Gomeroi poet and academic who has edited a new collection of First Nations poetry called Fire Front: First Nations poetry and power today. The book aims to break through shallow interpretations of Indigenous literature. Whittaker says she was "interested in pulling together an anthology that acted as a collective memory of the big, Blak poetry renaissance that's happening on this continent right now."
