Agency Projects' Leila Gurruwiwi

Leila Gurruwiwi joined Banksia to discuss two Agency Projects' events as part of Melbourne Design Week including Numbulwar Pop-up Studio and Exhibition and panel event AGENCY UNTOLD: A Collaborative Design Solution For Global Environmental Issues.

Featuring works from Numbulwar Numburindi Arts' master weavers, the exhibition which is a collaboration between Tait, Agency and Numbulwar Numburindi Arts, is currently on display at Tait in Fitzroy until 28 May.

The AGENCY UNTOLD panel will feature speakers including master Numbulwar weaver Rose Wilfred, Manager Indigenous Programs at the National Maritime Museum, Matt Poll, Minyma Aṉangu artist Tanya Singer, Western Yalanji artist Errol Evans and preeminent designer Trent Jansen. It is at Collingwood Yards on Tuesday 23 May.

Leila Gurruwiwi is a proud Yolngu woman originally from Galiwinku on Elcho Island in North East Arnhem land.

Wala Connections' Thara Brown

Thara Brown spoke about Wala Connections which was formed to deepen all peoples connection to Aboriginal culture and inspire self-expression through movement and dance.

She will be leading meditation and movement classes as part of the Immigration Museum's Wellbeing Within program on 24 & 31 May.

Thara Brown is a proud Koorie woman with maternal connections to Yorta Yorta and European/Maltese heritage.
