Presents Double Bounce
Moments & movements that are bouncing into earshot each week.
How did you first connect with Triple R?
I grew up close by, so think I first connected with Triple R looking at the posters while at the bus stop just after the studio moved to East Brunswick. Having recently seen The Dish I was shocked at how small the antennas were. And disappointed with the lack of Evanescence.
What/when was your first show?
Double Bounce is my first show, starting April 2016. I’ve loved filling in on other fine programs like Round & Round, Outta Space, Test Pattern and The Graveyard Shift.
What's your favourite Triple R story?
Being relatively new to Triple R I mainly just get a kick out of hearing little stories, funny encounters, filling out a picture of everyone’s history with the station - stuff like Nik Tripp talking about some multi-studio graveyard turntable soundscapes.
Your favourite other Triple R program and why?
Impossible to choose, but I’ve really loved Outta Space with Ollee Palmer over the last year and am sad it’s finishing up. Awesome to hear artists like Popcaan, Waterfall Person and Robert Forster in the same show - if not same bracket. Dig Ollee’s fastpaced and fearless style of chiming in over tracks, rewinding hot verses for a replay as soon as they finish… Compelling radio.
What does Triple R mean to you?
A remarkable community which has built, and continues to foster the gem of a station we benefit from everyday. Thoughtful, interested, generous, playful, engaged, and absolute chune conduit.
The studio door has accidentally jammed shut with you stuck inside. If there was only one CD in there with you, what would you want it to be, and why?
Marvin Gaye - I Want You. Studio jams for a jammed studio. So sexy we probably wouldn’t have a problem sliding the door right open by the time it’s done.
