How and when did you first connect with Triple R?
I first connected with Triple R in 2016. I wasn’t living in Melbourne at the time, but was lucky enough to be able to attend Leon Bridges’ live set in the performance space. It still stands out as one of the best live shows I’ve seen.
What does Triple R mean to you?
Triple R is such a cool family to be a part of, truly championing unique voices and storytellers; it has been awesome to have been welcomed into the fold in recent years. I think during lockdown especially, I realised how much an outlet like community radio can be for creatives but also just for people in general looking to forget or connect with something different – Triple R was that outlet.
What's your favourite Triple R story?
For me personally, being on air the morning Melbourne had one of its earthquakes a few years ago was hilarious, because it reinforced that I would actually be rubbish in an actual dire situation (ie. I would freeze and not be helpful at all haha)....
Describe your happy place
Because I work in music outside Triple R as well, so much of my job requires me to be out and about or travelling, so I really do enjoy when I get to be at home around my own things for set periods of time.
The studio door has accidentally jammed shut with you stuck inside. If there was only one album in there with you, what would you want it to be, and why?
D’Angelo’s Voodoo - it’s soothing!
