Presents Requiem For A Scream
Metal, hardcore and otherwise exquisitely heavy and brutal sounds. Soul-shifting noise. Dimension-altering soundscapes. Be crushed and renewed. Lose control.
How and when did you first connect with Triple R?
I did a Graveyard Shift in the late 2000s with a couple of mates, who invited me to join them at the last minute (thank you for changing my life, Ben and Scott!). I whipped out some extreme metal, and shortly thereafter, the Program Manager at the time, Mick James, asked me to fill in for TadPole on Respect the Rock. Now I spend more time at Triple R than my actual home.
What does Triple R mean to you?
The freedom to be myself.
What's your favourite Triple R story?
Cath's on-air proposal to Geraldine.
Describe your happy place.
Wherever I end up laughing my arse off with friends.
The studio door has accidentally jammed shut with you stuck inside. If there was only one album in there, what would you want it to be, and why?
My answer to this question would probably change 100 times in a day, because my mood dictates my musical preferences. But let's say this is an average day, I'm not hangry, and no-one has crushed my hope for humanity on social media in the last five minutes. I'd chuck on... Rust in Peace by Megadeth! Purely because I do a complete dance to “Holy Wars... The Punishment Due”. The dance isn't “good”, but it's REAL.
