A conversation with Wiradjuri astrophysicist and science communicator Dr Kirsten Banks, known to her hundreds of thousands of online followers as Astro Kirsten. In 2024 Kirsten became the first Aboriginal woman to graduate with a PhD in astrophysics for her thesis, The Spectroscopic Disambiguation of the Red Clump from the Red Giant Branch. Kirsten is an ambassador for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation and speaks to us about the upcoming Indigenous Literacy Day this Wednesday 4th September - an annual celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples’ Stories, Cultures, and Languages.
