This episode of Indigenuity comprises of two conversations, the first being with Koori/Goori and Lebanese writer, teacher, researcher, and winner of the 2022 David Unaipon Award, Dr Mykaela Saunders, whose latest published work ‘Always Will Be’ is a stunningly inventive and thought-provoking collection that poses the question: what might Country, community and culture look like in the Tweed if Gooris reasserted their sovereignty? The second interview is with Yolngu woman Lelia Gurruwiwi, who will be moderating an upcoming event for Melbourne Design Week, a series of talks and events exploring the stressors and debris present on sea country, and considering cross-disciplinary and sustainable solutions to dealing with discarded waste.
