Listen to Clare Jaque Vasquez on using art to protect and honour stories and Karen Wyld on becoming a poet26:0224 March 2024

On this episode of Indigenuity we chat to Gomeroi artist Clare Jaque Vasquez, whose paintings capture stories and weaving practices in raised textural form on her canvases, utilising layering to embed and protect stories, and whose work is being featured in the exhibition ‘The Women's Show’ at Vivien Anderson Gallery in St Kilda from 20th March to 27th April. The second interview is with Martu author Karen Wyld, whose most recent work; The Rocks Remain: Blak poetry and story, is a collection of poetry and prose, in which twenty-five Aboriginal writers share narratives that embody strength of family and community; love found and lost; honouring Elders and Ancestors; asserting sovereignty; and envisioning Blak futures.
