Our August Live at RRR Lineup!
It was a super busy time in the Triple R Performance Space last month, with celebrations, in-conversations, and of course, live music all taking place! And we're excited to announce that we're doing it all again this August! Live at RRR next month:
First, join us on Friday 2 August for a special live-to-air with local legends Love of Diagrams, who've recently reunited to play their first shows in seven years.
The post-punk powerhouse trio will bring their energetic drums, razor-sharp riffs, and captivating vocals to the Performance Space, to help us send off Triple R presenter Jazz Feldy. For the last 5 1/2 years Jazz has celebrated women and gender-diverse musicians from around the world on her beloved Sunday show Good Fortune.
Don't miss this rare chance to see Love of Diagrams, and to come and say thanks and farewell to Jazz as well!
Then, on Monday 12 August join us for a special RRR In Conversation event: Primal Screen Live!
Host Flick Ford brings Primal Screen out of the studio and into the Performance Space for this edition of RRR's beloved film and screen culture program. Featuring in-depth discussions and lively reviews with a cast of local luminaries. Guest lineup to be announced soon – stay tuned for details!
That same week, we're kicking off our Radiothon 2024 celebrations with what is sure to be a historic set from Underground Lovers on Friday 16 August! Hosted by Tony Biggs of On The Blower.
Celebrating 30 years of Dream it Down, the original 1990s lineup performs songs from this breakthrough album, and across their career. Hear their influential mix of acoustic and electronic pop, and gain insights into the band's enduring legacy.
Continuing our Radiothon 2024 festivities on Friday 23 August, award-winning Warnindhilyagwa songwriter and musician Emily Wurramara performs Live at RRR! Hosted by Bumpy & Emmy of Pebbles.
Emily will perform a stripped back and intimate set, sharing her unique blend of blues and roots, with stories of connection to Country and family. She'll also preview tracks from her upcoming second album NARA, reflecting her personal and creative growth.
Finally, on Friday 30 August, join us for a mind-bending broadcast with Big Yawn, celebrating the release of their new album NGBE. Hosted by Dan Dare of How High The Moon.
Melbourne's electronic wizards, Big Yawn dive into their fourth album, a thrilling blend of mutated breaks, drum 'n' bass, grime, and dub-wise sounds. Named after their former warehouse space, this recent Triple R Album of the Week captures the group's electrifying live energy and pushes their ever-evolving sound to new heights.
Of course, the only way to attend is by being a subscriber... so get on over to that Subscribe page! The Subscriber giveaway to attend Love of Diagrams is now open, with the rest to follow shortly – stay tuned to the Triple R website and socials for more details.
