'5' is the first album from SAULT, a group who've quietly created one of the strongest and most intriguing debuts of the year. Full details are somewhat elusive, but we can be sure the trio features London-based musician Dean "Inflo" Josiah Cover, a writer whose credits include 'Offence' by Little Simz, 'House in L.A.' by Jungle and 'Black Man in a White World' by Michael Kiwanuka. We also know the record is out via Forever Living Originals, an independent label whose roster includes celebrated Chicago artist Melisa Young aka Kid Sister. Pictured on the cover are five matches, and it's no co-incidence the record is filled with fire; an incendiary blend of new wave, post-punk, R&B, hip hop, funk, soul, and dub sounds.
