The secondalbum from English band The Horrors is an absorbing and accomplished return, encompassing a broader range of sounds and styles under the production guidanceof Portishead’s Geoff Barrow. Abrasivepsychedelic sounds and motorik krautrock reveal the band's dedication to delvingdeeper than the gothic freakbeat of their debut, and while sonic references to TheCure, The Jesus & Mary Chain, Joy Division and The Psychedelic Furs are allin evidence, the whole is indeed greater than the sum of its parts.
