Mod Con is Erica Dunn, Sara Retallick and Raquel Solier – Melbourne artists well known for extensive solo and group work over the years (Palm Springs, Golden Syrup, Various Asses, Jimmy Tait, Fatti Frances, Harmony and Tropical Fuck Storm, to name just a few).  Here they combine their peerless skills into a record that friend and collaborator Gareth Liddiard places somewhere “between the Bangles and Black Flag.” Erica Dunn describes the music as “faster and louder” than earlier Palm Springs material, with “duo vocals, tough bass and syncopated drums at the core.” It’s a foundation they build upon to create towering tracks filled with energy, ideas and surprises.
