The original Nuggets compilation compiled by young music critic (and later Patti Smith guitarist and musical accomplice) Lenny Kaye, defined a sound and style that went on to influence punk, grunge and garage rock. 40 years on Warner are issuing a remastered anniversary edition of the 27 track original compilation, alongside two additional releases: ‘Nuggets: Antipodean Interpolations of the First Psychedelic Era’, and ‘Down Under Nuggets: Definitive Aussie 60s Garage Collection’. This week Triple R is featuring these two other compilations.

Antipodean Interpolations includes covers of the original nuggets by acclaimed current Australian bands including The Frowning Clouds, Straight Arrows, The Murlocs, Pond, Pearls, Baptism Of Uzi and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. Down Under Nuggets is a collection of premier Australian garage-rock of the 60s, and features classics of the genre from bands such as The Missing Links, The Moods, and The Purple Hearts.
