Entitled Apocalypse, the beautifully sparse and melodically resonant Apocalypse finds Callahan in top lyrical form as ever, expressing poignant reflections and incisive commentary in direct and deceptively complex poetry.  Bill Callahan's compositions, informed by country, blues, Americana and '70s rock styles, are also disarming in their elegant simplicity.
