Ending the year on a high note, the release of the ‘Perspectives’ EP and the lead track ‘Middle of the Road’ received extensive praise from local radio.
With a debut album ready for release and burgeoning international presence, 2018 is shaping up to be theyear for The Outdoor Type.
‘Sonically, I think we were chasing that widescreen, cinematic sound of home. You know when you flick on gold FM and Icehouse or Australian Crawl are belting out one of their ‘evergreens’, there is a distinct sound there. It’s probably just nostalgia, I’m not sure, but it’s a sound we’ve gravitated towards,’ explains frontman Zack Buchanan. ‘Lyrically the song is a rumination on the current state of things, the micro and macro.’
To promote the release of ‘Dirty Water’ The Outdoor Type will be embarking on a regional tour.
