Tam Matlakowski has been making music independently for over 18 years.

His first musical highpoint was the band Pop Singles, active between 2009-2013, where influences from 60’s psychedelia to DIY punk converged into something that would later be termed as Dolewave.

Following a period of challenges and creative evolution, Tam Vantage emerged as a solo act in 2014. Introspective narratives, imagined characters, traditional storytelling, and abstract poeticism are a few of his lyrical approaches, explored across ever-changing styles, and presented through both hi-fi and lo-fi production values. Albums like 2015's 'Life In High Definition' and 2017's 'Show Me To The Sun' explored themes of isolation and longing, each marked by a distinct sonic palette ranging from jangle-based post-punk to atmospheric shoegaze.

Beyond solo endeavors, Tam has been a prolific collaborator, lending talents to groups like Leah Seniors band, The Stevens, Girlatones, Permits, and Chook Race, showcasing further versatility.

In 2021, Tam helped see out the release of "Ancient Loyalties" a poignant tribute album of his late fathers work, blending folk traditions with 80's psychedelia. This period also saw the release of his 3rd solo album "Laughing Gas & Apple Pie," a raw, energetic, fuzz-drenched record where Tam played every instrument.

Currently, Tam swaps between playing loud aggressive sets with his live band, and playing intimate gentle solo shows. For this show Tam will play with full band and a focus on the material from his 3rd album 'Laughing Gas & Apple Pie'. His 4th album has been recorded and is currently being mixed by Matty Chow (Rolling Blackouts C.F., The Peep Temple, Graveyard Train).
