Join us at the Museum of Australian Photography with cultural astronomer Duane Hamacher for a discussion on the ways that First Nations people have employed the stars in the night sky as a tool of scientific understanding.
Duane has spent many years learning from and consulting with first nations Elders of Australia and the Torres Strait. His recent book, 'The First Astronomers: how Indigenous Elders read the stars', has been welcomed as a bridge to share the understanding that everything on the land is reflected in the sky, and everything in the sky is reflected on the land.
