For the past 4 years South Atlas have been refining their sound in an old beach shack on Victoria’s Surfcoast. These multi - instrumentalists have gained a dedicated local following, playing to packed venues of salty eyed coastal folk drawn to the sound by a shared reverence of the wild southern ocean, adjoining forests and the stories contain therein. Think powerful folk harmonies, big psychedelic guitar sounds, banjos, ukuleles and a rhythm section which is dynamic, strong and grounded - from recent inclusion of esteemed Latin American drummer Ramiro Nahuel. 2002 has seen South Atlas playing regional shows all across Victoria including a headline slot at Ballarat's Beyond Dark festival. Their foot tapping live show offers a humbling catharsis, as all good music should.
