Sunday Slaughter at The Last Chance returns presenting an evening of heavy sounds encompassing metal, noise, industrial and other experimental soundscapes!

Serene Ailment is the long-running power electronics solo project of Naarm-based experimentalist and multi-instrumentalist Lulu Collard (@ashbelband, ex-@dubhessatheband). Her art over the last fifteen years focuses intensively on cerebral drones and conjuring up whirlwind states of cathartic holistic confusion through improvised atmospheres and sonic landscapes befitting of a nightmarish void, juxtaposed against an oceanic calm in a storm of relentless tension. An anxiety-laden omen of personal calm, degraded childhood memories, surreal ecstasy and the boarded-up splayed before you.

Violet Dread are a heavy industrial duo who fuse metal riffs, screams, electronic drums, and a punk spirit, with a palpable sense of dread. They released their debut album in 2024 and are gradually being regarded in Melbourne’s underground music scene as an act not to be missed. Violet Dread’s music explores topics such as grief, power, the nature of man, shame, consciousness, our environment, and community spirit. They connect with their audience in an open way with empathy, through the cathartic experience of dread-filled music.
