Join Sarah Carroll and her fabulous band as they celebrate the launch of NQR&B!

NQR&B is a collection which celebrates Sarah's great loves and her singular life. The album is available via Cheersquad in limited release vinyl (clear with red smoke), traditional black vinyl, CD with bonus track and digitally ahead of it’s release on 5 July 2024.

Opening track, Done To, written during Victoria’s third lockdown, declares that…” we are flowers reaching up higher…” and sets the tone perfectly for the honest reflection and compassion sewn into the songs.  The first single from the album was Diamond in the Mine – about which Sarah says “She means me” – speaks powerfully of loss and how difficult it can be to push on through life. The Artist Original is the second single from the album and of it Sarah muses, “I dreamed this one; after driving along a snowy road, pulling up outside a beautiful Spanish Mission style pub with those words in big black letters on the front.” The recording features a cri de coeur steel solo from Leigh Ivin which reflects the heartbreak expressed in the lyrics perfectly.

The ex-Melbourne, now Bellarine Peninsula-based singer-songwriter and roots-music luminary is known for her work with the likes of GITThe Pirates Of BeerSoft GoldThe Left WingThe Junes and The Cartridge Family, her work with her late husband, the legendary harmonica player and singer-songwriter Chris Wilson and sons Fenn Wilson and George Carroll Wilson, and her decades of broadcasting and music writing experience.

Sarah is an individual who simply oozes musicality: a gorgeous, soulful singer, a beautiful instrumentalist, and someone who has an intrinsic understanding of all manner of roots music. Her songs chime with sincerity and deal largely with her experiences as a teacher, mother, wife, political animal and touring musician.
