Rhea John is an emerging Melbourne-based jazz/contemporary vocalist who leaves a remarkable impression on audiences with her sublime musical interpretations, nuanced vocal expressions, excellent elocution and command of the jazz style. A finalist in the 2024 Generations in Jazz Vocal Scholarship, Rhea is currently studying a Bachelor of Music specialising in Jazz and Improvisation at Monash University’s Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music. Upon her entry into the school in 2022, she was awarded with the Monash-Pratt Musician Performance Scholarship (Jazz) and went on to receive the Bornstein Jazz Voice Prize thereafter. She has worked and performed alongside the likes of Paul Grabowsky AO, Deborah Cheetham AO, Tony Gould, Kristin Berardi, Shannon Barnett, Monique diMattina, and Coco’s Lunch in various musical projects such as The Monash Sessions, the Melbourne International Jazz Festival, and the Melbourne Women’s International Jazz Festival.
